For those who don’t know, around 25% of people with garages do not use their garage to park their car. Most of them use their garage to store useless items and broken appliances.

In our day-to-day lives, it can be extremely easy to collect material goods that we have a hard time storing. If you love to collect these things, you might end up struggling to keep your home organized and neat.

Fortunately, there are several tips that you can follow to help you organize your house and keep it tidy.

Aside from hiring house cleaning services, here are other tips to consider:

Gamify Cleaning

You can turn any activity into something competitive and fun if you gamify the process. This means you’re getting rid of the work element, making it more fun. You’ll find the process a lot simpler if you can do this with home cleaning.

One concept you can follow is to place a whiteboard in the living room. If a family member leaves a mess or item around, you can put a tally on it. At the end of the week or month, the family member with the least marks gets a reward or gift.

Another concept to try is an easter egg hunt. You and your kid both have a room to clean. The other person has 1 minute before they start to hide 3 tape markets in spots around the other individual’s room.

Your goal is to look for the tape as you clean and organize the area around it. Once both of you are done, any person who hasn’t found the tape hasn’t cleaned enough and loses the game.

Give a Place for Everything

It can be difficult to assign an area for everything. Takeaway food leaflets, the weird bit of stationery, bills that arrive, and other things all linger and sometimes do not have a place to be. They simply gather and spill over into the rest of the house.

This doesn’t occur if everything has a place. You’ve got to ensure that even the most useless item has a place to reside. This might involve investing in a couple of additional storage pieces. However, you’ll be satisfied with the payoff.

De-Clutter Constantly

Take a look at what you’re actually cleaning when you organize your house. Is the item you’re currently holding still offering joy or serving a purpose? If you find a lot of items that do not have any purpose anymore, you need to get rid of them.

Set aside a part of your home for items that you can donate. You can do this in your basement or garage. Get rid of all unused items and unwanted gifts. Then, take them away at the end of the month.

Another method for effective household cleaning is to use a one in, one out rule. If one item comes inside your house, you need to get rid of something else.

For instance, if you purchase a new pair of shoes, you need to get rid of a pair of your old shoes.
